Joys of “Literacy”

Within the scope of the “Literacy” Project, the Director General of the National Parliamentary Library of Georgia, Giorgi Kekelidze, paid a visit to the European School on November 1, 2017 and held an open lesson for the 3rd and 4th graders.

The open lesson provided a nice, relaxing atmosphere. The students along with their special guest felt completely at ease.

The lesson turned out to be an emotional one for Giorgi Kekelidze. He reflected upon his first meeting with the European School students on social media: “Today was such a busy day for different reasons, but one thing particularly stood out: I started working in school. During this past year, I have been meeting with students from different schools and realized that I was doing pretty well. I have 10 years of experience of being a university professor and now I started teaching classes in school as well.”

The European School students emotionally described the meeting with Giorgi: “He was very nice and open, and his classes felt like home….”

Within the scope of the “Literacy” Project, Giorgi Kekelidze will visit the European School every Wednesday. The little ones will get to enjoy his classes and experience different approaches to reading.
