Mathematics Saturday School and Mathematics Club at the European School

Goal: In order to improve the quality of teaching Mathematics and prepare students for mathematics competitions, conferences and Olympiads, the European School is establishing a Mathematics Club and Mathematics Saturday School. Saturday School will follow the specific program that will help students develop abstract and logical reasoning. Mathematics Club will prepare students for different competitions and olympiads.

Team: The head of the Mathematics Club is Otar Chitaia, a winner of numerous Mathematics competitions and olympiads and an experienced teacher from V. Komarov Tbilisi School of Physics and Mathematics.

Saturday School teachers are honor students from Tbilisi State University (Faculty of Exact and Natural Sciences).

Schedule: Saturday School will take place every Saturday, from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m.

Mathematics Club will take place once a week; duration of the meeting: 2 hours and 30 minutes.

Grade 5: Saturday School; the maximum number of students – 15.

Grade 6: Saturday School; the maximum number of students -15.

Grade 7: Saturday School – the maximum number of students 15.

Grade 8-9: Mathematics Club – the maximum number of students – 10.

Eligibility criteria – Saturday School is open for honor students whereas Math Club accepts students based on teachers’ recommendations.

Study material is prepared in accordance with the curriculum.
