Celebrating Tbilisoba at European School
On October 13, our Georgian Language Teachers organised a special Tbilisoba-themed activity for our IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) Grade 2 and Grade 3 students, celebrating the beauty, traditions, and rich cultural heritage of Georgia. Students explored an exhibition of Tbilisi photographs, discovered how traditional Georgian delicacies, churchkhela and khachapuri, are made, and experienced the process of pressing grapes to make fresh grape juice. They also explored a special cultural corner featuring traditional Georgian musical instruments and symbols of Georgian culture. Through hands-on experiences, inquiry, and cultural exploration, students connected with Georgian traditions and discovered new ways of learning beyond the classroom, reflecting the IB PYP approach to meaningful, student-centred learning.
