Welcome from the Principal of the IB Programmes
Thank you for visiting these pages. Whether you’re a prospective family, a curious parent, or simply exploring what an IB education looks like, we’re glad you’re here, and we want these pages to feel less like a brochure and more like an honest introduction to who we are.
European School is Georgia’s only full Continuum IB World School, meaning we offer all four International Baccalaureate programmes, from Grade 1 through Grade 12, under one roof. If you’re new to the IB, here’s the short version: It’s an internationally recognized approach to education that cares as much about how students think, question, and treat others as it does about what they know. It’s rigorous, but its real aim is to help young people become curious, capable, and kind.
Here’s what that looks like at each stage:
The PYP (Grades 1–5) builds curiosity from the very beginning, drawing on the best of global educational research to give young learners a strong, joyful foundation.
The MYP (Grades 6–9) connects classroom learning to real life. Students grapple with questions that matter locally and globally, and grow into creative, critical, reflective thinkers along the way.
The IB Foundation Year (Grade 10) is a transitional year we designed ourselves, in close consultation with the IB Organization, IB educators from other schools, and our own school community, to make sure every student enters Grades 11 and 12 on solid footing.
The DP (Grades 11–12) is our pre-university programme, respected by leading universities around the world.
The CP (Grades 11–12) combines DP coursework with a practical, career-related core, and is a strong path for students drawn toward higher education, apprenticeships, or direct entry into a career.
In June 2026, we celebrated our 5th cohort of students who went all the way from Kindergarten to Grade 12 with us. Watching them go on to universities of their choice, often with scholarships, and always with the personal support of our University & Career Counselling Office, is one of the most rewarding parts of what we do.
None of this happens without the right people. Our educators are talented and deeply dedicated. Many of them are published authors, international examiners, and recognized teacher trainers. However, what matters most to us is that they genuinely care about each student in front of them. Alongside them, our social-emotional counsellors and student support team work closely with families from Grade 1 through Grade 12, because we know that how a child feels at school shapes how they learn.
We also believe education shouldn’t stay inside the classroom. Our students take part in study trips, international competitions, community service, conversations with guest speakers, and various enrichment activities.
A website can only tell you so much. The everyday warmth, the small moments between teachers and students, the sense of belonging are things you have to feel in person.
We’d love to welcome you to our campus.
Kind regards,
Brice Bomo, MD, MAT, MSc, QTS
