Grade 1 PYP Students Learn with a Young Guest Speaker During Art Lessons

As part of the summer school activities, Grade 1 students were visited by a young artist, Sophia. A high school student herself, Sophia started painting when she was a child and has participated in several exhibitions showcasing her artwork and talent.

She conducted a special art class for the first graders, where she talked about the importance of colors and how art helps us express ourselves. She introduced students to different painting techniques and demonstrated how to blend colors and apply them to paper.

During the second half of the lesson, students created a collaborative painting together with the guest artist. Using their fingers, they blended colors and created artwork by applying the techniques Sophia had taught them.

The students enjoyed this fun and creative art lesson and had the opportunity to learn more about colors, self-expression, and different painting methods.
