Unit of Inquiry
As a meaningful conclusion to our Unit of Inquiry, Who We Are, Grade 3 students turned their learning about healthy lifestyles and well-being into action by organizing a Charity Marathon at Turtle Lake, together with Georgian A teacher Ms. Lika and the Grade 3 Homeroom Teachers.
Our students were running for a cause! With the support of their parents, grandparents, and relatives, they found sponsors who pledged to donate money for every lap completed. The funds raised will be used to purchase essential supplies, including healthy food, for a support center for children at risk of abandonment.
As part of the project, students also created posters, prepared informational leaflets, and independently developed “10 Tips for Good Health,” sharing their healthy lifestyle recommendations with people around Turtle Lake.
Through this meaningful action, students demonstrated empathy, compassion, and social responsibility, showing that learning becomes
even more powerful when we use it to make a difference in the lives of others.
Every lap counted. Every effort mattered. Together, we ran to make a difference!
