Charity Event to Help the Library of Akhtakli Village

Our Georgian Program students from 10th and 12th grades and their head teachers decided to organize a charity event in order to help a school in need of creating a library and to supply it with a collection of books.
Books and stationery goods were being collected throughout a week and we were happy to see that the whole school got involved in the event.
Georgia has several regions that are populated with minorities and we decided to help a school from these regions.
We picked a public school located in Gardabani, the village of Aktakli, where students study both on Georgian and Azerbaijani languages. The school’s Georgian sector has 72 Azerbaijani students. After interviewing the school’s director, Ms. Mtvarisa Babajanashvili, it turned out that the school’s library had a lack of Georgian literature.
Collected items and stationery items were sorted and prepared for delivery.
On November 22, we went to Aktakli and gifted the school about 500 books to fill a gap in their library’s Georgian Literature collection. In addition, the school was provided with a full package of stationery items.
Our presents put a bright smile on children’s faces and made them more motivated to acquire in-depth knowledge of Georgian literature, which was the main aim of our charity event.
