Mariam Natroshvili - From European School to University of Pennsylvania
I have always wanted to continue my studies at a university that would provide me with the best possible education in my field of interest – economics and finance. While I am thrilled to have secured admissions at leading universities in the US and received merit-based funding (Bentley University – $56,500, Fordham University – $12,500, Hofstra University – $27,000, University of Rochester – $10,000), I am going to my dream destination – the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
I think studying at American High School has prepared me for an Ivy League university. At AHS, I took courses that allowed me to explore my interests and make an informed decision about my major. My first-ever AP course – AP Microeconomics – has helped me dive deeper into the field that always fascinated me. Other AP courses such as AP Calculus AB, AP Calculus BC, AP Psychology, AP Human Geography, AP seminar, AP Statistics, and AP Research have solidified my knowledge which I will continue to build on in college. I also pursued extracurricular activities (TEDx speech, internships, volunteer work, grant projects, and student parliament activities), which allowed me to develop leadership skills and make a difference in my community.
I would like to thank the University Counseling Office, the academic faculty, and the school administration for their guidance and support.
