5C Trip: Art Meets Poetry
Grade 5C visited the art gallery as part of their formative assessment, where they explored various exhibitions and discussed the artists’ styles and techniques. Students carefully observed the paintings, taking time to notice colors, emotions, and details before choosing the artwork that inspired them the most. After selecting their favorite piece, they wrote a four-stanza poem that expressed their personal interpretation and emotional response to the painting.
Throughout the visit, students strengthened several ATL skills, including observation and research skills, critical and creative thinking, communication through poetic expression, and self-management as they worked independently and stayed focused on their task. The experience not only supported their learning goals but also encouraged creativity, reflection, and a deeper appreciation for visual art.
