5C: Protesting Against the Racism

The Grade 5C students concluded their unit about the government with a powerful and meaningful protest against racism, showcasing their learning, empathy, and leadership. After weeks of inquiry and discussion, the students wrote thoughtful speeches expressing their views on fairness, equality, and the importance of standing up against discrimination. During the event, five students had the opportunity to read their speeches aloud, sharing personal reflections, research findings, and calls to action. Their confident voices and strong messages demonstrated a deep understanding of the issue and a genuine desire to create positive change within their community.

To make the experience even more impactful, the Grade 4 students were invited to join the protest. After the speeches, both grades marched together around the school campus, holding signs they designed and chanting messages promoting unity and respect. The march highlighted the students’ commitment to building a more inclusive school environment and showed how even young learners can take meaningful action. It was a memorable event that brought the school community together and inspired everyone to continue standing up against racism.
