A Strong Start to 2026–2027: MYP Back-to-School Activity Series
The first week of the new academic year in the Middle Years Programme (MYP) was filled with energy, community and learning. The Back-to-School Activity Series brought together a festive first-day welcome, grade-level assemblies and age-specific activities rooted in the IB philosophy.
On the first day, learners were greeted with music, balloons and a warm welcome from the MYP leadership team at the school entrance. During the assemblies that followed, students explored how an IB World School is organised, welcomed back returning classmates, greeted new members of our community and revisited the principles of the IB programmes.
The highlight of the week was a series of hands-on activities built around the IB learner profile. Grade 6 students earned their IB Passport certificates by completing team challenges focused on communication, collaboration and problem-solving. Grade 7 learners worked together to solve a shared puzzle, with each challenge linked to a different learner profile attribute. Grade 8 students took on a new task each day in the IB Global Challenge Lab, working at their own pace throughout the week.
We are proud of our MYP learners, who began the year not only by hearing about IB values but by living them, reflecting our belief that the IB philosophy is part of everyday school life.
