Easter Exhibition

Georgian Program students from grades 2-3 arranged an exhibition of decorative Easter eggs. The exposition was organized by Arts teachers Lana Barabidze and Tamar Jakeli. The students exhibited collages, wooden eggs created in FabLab, artworks made from plasticine and ceramic and created the school atmosphere that embodies Easter spirit.

Easter Stuff at FabLab

The European School started preparation for Easter. In the FabbLab students made modern and unusual Easter eggs using technologies. Georgian Program students from grade 3 had an interdisciplinary lesson in the FabLab, where the artworks created at Art lesson were converted into digital files and applied at wooden material with a laser cutter. Easter egg activities were fun and enjoyable for all the students.

Festival Golden Fleece

Sophia Bazadze, the Academic Director of the European School awarded certificates of achievement to the students from grade 3a who successfully participated at the cultural festival Golden Fleece.  Supervised by the homeroom teacher Eka Berdzenishvili, the students performed a drama act Apple of Discord.

Let’s Make Environment Greener!

On April 22, the European School students, with an initiative of the Greens Movement of Georgia, planted willow, laurel, spruce trees in the schoolyard and greened the environment. The representatives of the Greens Movement met PYP 5th graders, working on environmental projects and gave useful advice. The first grade students had a lesson about reusing of waste products. PYP students from grade 5 staged a shadow play that considered environmental threats.

National Gallery

On April 16, within the transdisciplinary theme “New and Old Tbilisi”, Georgian Program students from grade 4 visited Dimitri Shevardnadze National Gallery. The students were introduced to an exposition of Georgian artists, old Tbilisi landscapes and paintings by Giorgio de Chirico. The tour to the gallery was impressive and memorable for the students.

One Day in Museum

On April 16, Georgian Program students from grade 2a visited Art Palace of Georgia. Children discovered the history of how was the museum founded. They had an interesting journey in the past while passing 7 halls with exceptional exhibits. The students also got informed about Easter traditions in Georgia and other countries. Finally, kids made an Easter goat.

Mother Language Day

On April 15, Georgian Program primary students celebrated Mother Language Day. They exhibited own calligraphies in the hall, wrote different phrases and quotes, praised Georgian alphabet with poetry and promised to preserve our cultural heritage.

Old Tbilisi

On April 5, within a transdisciplinary theme, Georgian Program students from grade 4 had a tour in Old Tbilisi. The students received information about the foundation of the city and peaceful coexistence of people with different religions and nationalities in old city. Primary students visited famous places and monuments of the old town and learned a lot about its history.

Visit to Shadow Theatre

On March 26, Georgian Program students from grade 1b visited Budrugana Gagra-Georgian State Hand Shadow Theatre, where talented artists offered master classes to young visitors and played some acts together. After gaining positive experience happy kids returned to the school.
