European School Students Learn Pedestrian Road Safety Rules
17 May 2018On May 17, 2018, Grade 2 students from Georgian Program had a demo lesson on road safety awareness. Major Levan Tsiklauri delivered a road safety talk. He described the police duties and taught children basic street safety - explained how street lights work, how to cross the road, what zebra crossing is, etc. Students learned to identify traffic signs. In the end, our guest speaker answered children’s additional questions.
Elementary School Students Discuss Environmental Responsibilities
17 May 2018On May 16, 2018, Grade 1 students from Georgian Program reviewed the transdisciplinary unit about coexisting with nature. Children discussed living and non-living things, good and bad bacteria, the effects our bad habits have on our health, etc. They exchanged viewpoints on environmental responsibilities and how to reduce our environmental impact on human health and natural world.
Project presentation at the European School
16 May 2018On May 16, 2018, Georgian Program grade 7B students participated in an open lesson themed as “I Will Swim over the Sea.” Students read famous works of literature, recalled and discussed popular movies, and brought scripted characters to life.
Giorgi Ovashvili at the European School
15 May 2018Giorgi Ovashvili, the Georgian film director and screenwriter, visited the European School on May 15, 2018. He sat down with the grade 9 students from Georgian Program. Our students learned about his works and discussed the movie the Other Bank which he directed in 2009.
Elementary School Students Visit Chemistry and Biology Labs
25 Apr 2018Georgian Program Grade 1 and 3 students visited Biology and Chemistry labs on April 24, 2018. Students learned about paper recycling and its importance in waste reduction. Manana Zhamurashvili, Biology teacher, explained to children that there are good bacteria, too, and that they are essential for the efficient functioning of our body. Children watched an animated movie about good bacteria and then observed them under the microscope.
World Book Day at the European School
23 Apr 2018International community celebrates World Book Day on April 23 annually. Today is the day when authors, universities, schools, book stores and cultural centers, all come together to promote reading across Georgia. The students from Georgian Program joined the celebration of World Book Day. Grade 11 students set down with the Elementary School children to read Harry Potter series together.
The European School Students Celebrate World Theatre Day
13 Apr 2018The European School students decided to surprise their peers and joined the celebration of the World Theatre Day. Grade 8B students staged sketches and skits based on the famous plays: "Trouble of Darispani" and "the Cherry Orchard." The entire student body, along with the teachers and parents, embraced and welcomed our students’ acting skills.
Handmade Car Race at the European School
04 Apr 2018David Nozadze, the Robotics teacher of the European School, organized a handmade car competition for our students on April 2, 2018. Fourteen competing students from grade 1-12 made moving vehicles from recycled and re-used materials. The jury awarded one winner in each category. However, the Super Cup went to Saba Nodia, grade 2 student for creating the best handmade car.
Charity Movie Screening at the European School “Ekvtime: Man of God”
04 Apr 2018The European School hosted the screening of the movie “Ekvtime: Man of God” on April 4, 2018. The movie director, together with the film crew, attended the event. At the end, the audience got a chance to ask questions, speak to the director and the film crew, and state their viewpoints and ideas about the film. All the money raised will be donated to the film support fund.
