Grade 6 Project “Greetings to Abkhazia!”
04 Apr 2018On April 3, 2018, Georgian Program grade 6 students presented their project “Greetings to Abkhazia!” The students conducted a research on important cultural heritage in Abkhazia and Abkhazian traditions. They shared their findings and a documentary film with the audience.
Robotics Class at Technopark
28 Mar 2018David Nozadze, the European School Robotics teacher organized an off-campus Robotics class at Technopark for Georgian Program grade 5 students. The class was dynamic and interesting as students got themselves acquainted with the LittleBits electronics kit. Having familiarized themselves with the basics of electronics, they started creating electronic devices on their own. They also toured around Technopark and observed 3D printers and high-tech equipment. The European School ICT department is planning on conducting such innovative off-campus classes in the future.
Children Love Science
28 Mar 2018Young children are natural scientists: they ask questions, observe and generally, are curious about the world around them. It’s always fun for them to attend science lessons in upper grades. On March 21, students from grade 3 enjoyed Physics experiments conducted by 8-9 graders.
The European School Students Visit Marjanishvili Theatre
23 Mar 2018Grade 3-4 students visited the museum of Marjanishvili Theatre on March 21, 2018. They got to see the exhibited works of Petre Otskheli, stage costumes and dressing rooms. Students learned more about performing arts and how various performances are created. In the end, they got a chance to try on stage costumes.
Visit to the Tbilisi Zoo
20 Mar 2018Animals, nature, ecology, biodiversity and adaptations -these are the topics covered by grade 5a students at Tbilisi zoo. Different opportunities were used for exploring science: students did some observations together with the Science teacher Manana Zhamurashvili, saw real-world examples of the animals and their habitats, determined the differences among mammals, fish, reptiles, posed questions focusing on animal behaviors - all within the trip to the zoo.
Literature Quiz at the European School
19 Mar 2018Tekla Beradze, the European School teacher, organized a literature quiz for the 8B students at the school library. The quiz consisted of various fun activities. The students tested their knowledge on “Wonder” by R.J. Palacio. They had already read the book during the summer vacation. S. Darchiashvili and G. Panjikidze emerged as overall winners. Every participant received memorable gifts. At the end, students and teachers watched some parts of the movie adaptation of “Wonder.”
Gifts for Moms
08 Mar 2018Grade 3B students created unique Mother's Day gifts for March 3. They have been preparing for this day for quite some time now: at the Clay Hands art studio they have been making brooches and clay pots for their moms. Later on, with the help of the school gardener, they planted flowers in the pots and created beautiful flower arrangements for their moms.
Visit to the Book Museum
06 Mar 2018On March 1st, the European School students from grades 3-4 visited the National Library and the Book Museum. Giorgi Kekelidze-the General Director of the National Parliamentary Library of Georgia hosted his students and offered them a very interesting tour. The famous writer even prepared gifts for the students- he gave them his fairy tale books. The students were full of emotions and impressions at the end of the day.
