World Book Day at the European School

International community celebrates World Book Day on April 23 annually. Today is the day when authors, universities, schools, book stores and cultural centers, all come together to promote reading across Georgia. The students from Georgian Program joined the celebration of World Book Day. Grade 11 students set down with the Elementary School children to read Harry Potter series together.

The European School Students Celebrate World Theatre Day

The European School students decided to surprise their peers and joined the celebration of the World Theatre Day. Grade 8B students staged sketches and skits based on the famous plays: "Trouble of Darispani" and "the Cherry Orchard." The entire student body, along with the teachers and parents, embraced and welcomed our students’ acting skills.

Handmade Car Race at the European School

David Nozadze, the Robotics teacher of the European School, organized a handmade car competition for our students on April 2, 2018. Fourteen competing students from grade 1-12 made moving vehicles from recycled and re-used materials. The jury awarded one winner in each category. However, the Super Cup went to Saba Nodia, grade 2 student for creating the best handmade car.

Charity Movie Screening at the European School “Ekvtime: Man of God”

The European School hosted the screening of the movie “Ekvtime: Man of God” on April 4, 2018. The movie director, together with the film crew, attended the event. At the end, the audience got a chance to ask questions, speak to the director and the film crew, and state their viewpoints and ideas about the film. All the money raised will be donated to the film support fund.

Grade 6 Project “Greetings to Abkhazia!”

On April 3, 2018, Georgian Program grade 6 students presented their project “Greetings to Abkhazia!” The students conducted a research on important cultural heritage in Abkhazia and Abkhazian traditions. They shared their findings and a documentary film with the audience.

Robotics Class at Technopark

David Nozadze, the European School Robotics teacher organized an off-campus Robotics class at Technopark for Georgian Program grade 5 students. The class was dynamic and interesting as students got themselves acquainted with the LittleBits electronics kit. Having familiarized themselves with the basics of electronics, they started creating electronic devices on their own. They also toured around Technopark and observed 3D printers and high-tech equipment. The European School ICT department is planning on conducting such innovative off-campus classes in the future.

Children Love Science

Young children are natural scientists: they ask questions, observe and generally, are curious about the world around them. It’s always fun for them to attend science lessons in upper grades. On March 21, students from grade 3 enjoyed Physics experiments conducted by 8-9 graders.

The European School Students Visit Marjanishvili Theatre

Grade 3-4 students visited the museum of Marjanishvili Theatre on March 21, 2018. They got to see the exhibited works of Petre Otskheli, stage costumes and dressing rooms. Students learned more about performing arts and how various performances are created. In the end, they got a chance to try on stage costumes.

Visit to the Tbilisi Zoo

Animals, nature, ecology, biodiversity and adaptations -these are the topics covered by grade 5a students at Tbilisi zoo. Different opportunities were used for exploring science: students did some observations together with the Science teacher Manana Zhamurashvili, saw real-world examples of the animals and their habitats, determined the differences among mammals, fish, reptiles, posed questions focusing on animal behaviors - all within the trip to the zoo.
