The European School Joins 100th Anniversary Celebration of Tbilisi State University
14 Feb 2018On February 9, 2018, the European School teachers, Maia Melikishvili and Maia Tsenguashvili, along with grade 10-11 students, organized a conference dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University. The speakers recalled the complexity of historical period in which Goergian meritorious public figures managed to establish the very first Georgian university.

The European School Students Are Mastering Cuneiform Script
14 Feb 2018The European School students are trying their hand at Cuneiform Script. As Grade 7A students were covering ancient Mesopotamian civilizations in History, their teacher, Manana Shekiladze, decided to teach them Cuneiform script, invented by the Sumerians. In class, she provided students with Cuneiform script, matching Georgian letters and chunks of clay. First, students made tablets out of clay and then, carved their names into the surface in Georgian and in Cuneiform.

I am a 21st Century Student
12 Feb 2018The European School teachers, Marina Melikidze and Maia Jokhadze jointly organized a class, "I am a 21st Century Student" for the grade 5 students of the Georgian Program. During the class, students worked on creating digital material and assessed the product against specific criteria.

Opening of the Einstein School
12 Feb 2018The European School signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with Kant Academy on February 9, 2018. Within the framework of the MoC, Einstein School is established at the European School for students aged 9-12. The Sunday school will help students develop creative thinking, leadership, effective communication skills, etc. The representatives of Kant Academy discussed the project details with students and parents. At the end of the meeting, the future students of the Sunday School took memorable pictures with their friend dressed as Albert Einstein.

The Representatives of the British Council Meet with Parents at the European School
12 Feb 2018Since November 2017, the British Council constitutes an official Partner of the European School and assists with implementation of British education model in English language learning and teaching in Georgian Program. On February 9, 2018, Zaza Purtseladze, the Director of the British Council, along with his team members, met with parents and discussed the ongoing project. The meeting was interactive - the representatives of the British Council described future plans along with the progress that they have made so far and answered questions from the audience.

Fun Chemistry
08 Feb 2018Georgian Program students from grade 3 attended the “Fun Chemistry” lesson conducted by Khatuna Kapanadze and Maka Nakaidze. The aim of the lesson is to make students become interested in Sciences from early childhood.

Exhibition of Ilia Mchedlishvil’s Paintings
08 Feb 2018On January 30, 2017 the art gallery “Sphumato” hosted an exhibition of Georgian artists. The European School student from grade 3 Ilia Mchedlishvili was the youngest among artists. On February 2, 2018 Ilia Mchedlishvili’s classmates visited the exhibition.

Success Achieved in Chess
25 Jan 2018Giuli Alikhanashvili, the head of the Chess Club at the European School, obtained a winning place in the Senior Chess Championship Tournament in Georgia, consequently confirming her participation in the World Championship that is planned to take place in November 2018.

Transdisciplinary Units
27 Dec 2017On December 18-21, Transdisciplinary unites were summarized at elementary level of Georgian Program. Students from all four age groups and their teachers were engaged in this activity. In the beginning, first graders presented posters “My appearance and features”, they motivated upper grades who were involved in different projects and set later several performances.
