Experiential Learning and the CCAAIBWS
A conference entitled “Experiential Learning” has been organized by the Caucasus and Central Asia Association of IB World Schools (CCAAIBWS). The Board members of the associations are the European School (Georgia), European Azerbaijan School (Azerbaijan), and the Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools (Kazakhstan).
The European Azerbaijan School has hosted the conference on December 10-12, 2021. In addition to many local and regional speakers from Georgia, Azerbaijan, and Kazakhstan, the event included internationally renowned keynote speakers such as Dr. Bomo Brice, Deputy Principal &Head of International Baccalaureate Programmes at the European School, Conrad Hughes from the international school of Geneva, Debra Williams, Lecturer at NHL Stenden University of Applied Sciences, Jak Kearney from Sotogrande International School, and Vedrana Pavletić Development and Recognition Lead for the AEM region at International Baccalaureate. The conference incorporated 48 workshops that have engaged the 250 participants in various sessions covering all the programmes and subjects. The European School delegation led by Dr. Brice Bomo consisted of the DP teachers: Shorena Abesadze, Petre Babilua, Davit Kbilashvili, Oussama Bader, and Tamar Guliashvili.
Collaboration with colleagues from Georgia, Azerbaijan, and Kazakhstan has officialized the association in partnership with the International Baccalaureate.
