George Gordon Byron

On April 28th, MYP students from grades 9-10 held the European School’s 15th-anniversary marking event George Gordon Byron – Citizen of the World. Students talked about the life and poetry of a Romantic poet and highlighted the contribution of Lord Byron in the Greek War of Independence. Based on researched scholarly articles, they also demonstrated the poet’s ties to Greece and his spiritual connections to Georgia.

The event was attended by Merabishvili Innes –an Academician, translator of Lord Byron’s poetry into Georgian, and Zurab Abashidze – a diplomat, Doctor of Political Sciences.
