Grade 1 PYP Summative Project "Space"

As part of our How the World Works Unit, PYP1 has been exploring the uniqueness of Earth and our Solar System. To start the unit, we looked at galactic images, and the students shared their knowledge and many queries. We began investigating the eight planets in our Solar System from this curiosity. Our students delved deeper into each earth through their research, culminating in presentations to the class. Our students’ thinking and communication skills were further tested in our field trip to the Tbilisi Digital Museum. We enjoyed flying through the Solar System in the planetarium, where we visited the planets and moons about which we had learned so much. We organized a Space Exhibition and different performances to celebrate all we had explored and learned. The students showed fantastic independence and self-management skills during the performances. We celebrated with certificates and singing our favorite space songs.
