Grade 5C: Time for Meditation
As part of their unit Who We Are, the grade 5C students were investigating the emotional changes that children go through during puberty. As we were on our journey to discover ways to manage our emotions, we decided to visit a yoga center. The students had an amazing time in the studio, where the yoga master organized a special session for them. The students learned how yoga can help people calm their minds and relax their bodies. They learned about the main elements of yoga and did exercises for the physical postures (Asana), breath control (Pranayama), and meditation (Dhyana). After the session, the students reflected on how they felt during the activity and after, and realized how yoga can be used as a tool for teenagers to manage their emotions during puberty.
