Mother Language Day Celebration

Today, on April 14th, our school proudly celebrated Mother Language Day – a day dedicated to honoring the richness and beauty of the Georgian language.

We were delighted to welcome a special guest, Pari Ismailova, a psychologist of Azerbaijani heritage who was born and raised in Georgia. Pari shared her inspiring journey with our students — how she faced challenges while learning Georgian as a second language and how, with dedication and passion, she eventually began teaching Georgian to others.

Her story was a powerful reminder of the importance of perseverance, cultural understanding, and love for language.

The event was attended by PYP students, as well as learners from both Georgian A and Georgian B language groups. Following the interactive session, students took part in a mini calligraphy challenge, where they carefully wrote out phrases by the esteemed educator and writer Iakob Gogebashvili.

It was a meaningful and inspiring day filled with language, culture, and creativity!
