New Year Corporate Event in Kachreti

European School Students at IMUN 2016

From 17 to 21 January 2016 a delegation of IB studentsfrom European School: Giga Apkhaidze, Giorgi Bagdavadze, Mariam Baghdavadze, Ana Gordeziani, Ani margvelashvuli, Natali Margvelashvili, Dudu Nikolaishvili, Mariam Tateshvili, Azamat rakhmon-Zodatogether with MUN club supervisor KetiNachkebia attended the Italian Model United Nations 2016 – ROME – V Session with 2500 other students from 150 Italian and foreign schools. The Italian Model United Nations was organized by the Italian Association United Network and International Model United Nations Association IMUNA in collaboration with Regione Lazio.
Our students participated in academic simulations at the Legal Committee, the Social, Humanitarian, and Cultural Committee (SOCHUM) and the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). They worked on following topics respectively: “The Right of Asylum in International Law;” “LGBT Rights in the Developing World;”Preserving Syrian Culture.”
Delegates gained an understanding of the concerns of people from different world regions and understood how the lives of these peoples can be improved through UN interventions. They also practiced interpersonal skills and behaviors used in international cooperation and globalized settings. At the closing ceremony delegates, Mariam Baghdavadze and Azamat Rakhmon-Zoda were awarded with Certificates of Honor.
