Beyond the Classroom Tours

Several tours were planned for the European School students throughout the week. The students from different grades visited Georgian National Museum, went to Kakheti and Shateau Mukhrani. They explored and learned a lot about fall farm activities- watched the wine-making process, backed khachapuri and dipped churchkhelas in grape juice. In the National Museum, within the program Georgian Archeology from Stone Age till Roman Era, the students explored artifacts from archeological excavations conducted during XX - XXI centuries on Georgian territory. They selected exhibits, filled questionnaires, described and researched the objects.

Finalists of Kings Olympiad

On September 27, certificates of different achievements were awarded to more than 50 students of the ES who participated in spring session of Kings Olympiad. Our school took part for the eighth time in Kings Olympiad which is a competition in Georgian and English languages and Mathematics for students from grades 2-12. The goal of the Olympiad is to improve students’ knowledge and skills and to identify skillful, talented students.

Hiking outside the City

For kids hiking is a way to discover something new and the best opportunity to reconnect with nature. The European School students from Georgian Program, together with Weaskigeorgia went on hiking to Algeti and returned after experiencing unforgettable adventures. They played a lot, hopped and enjoyed fun-filled activities and the fresh air.

Worcester Polytechnic Institute and Franklin & Marshall College Visit the European School

Julie Loveless (Worcester Polytechnic Institute) and Carly Mankus (Franklin & Marshall College) visited the European School on September 25. The university representatives met students from Georgian Program, American High School, and IB Programmes. They discussed admission requirements and study programs, shared their tips on how to craft a standout college essay, and answered students’ questions.

The International Day for the Preservation of the Ozone Layer

The Environmental Information and Education Centre held an informational meeting with the European School students dedicated to the International Day for the Preservation of the Ozone Layer. The director of the Environmental Information and Education Centre Tamar Aladashvili, the head of the Service of Ambient Air Protection of the Ministry of Environment Protection and Agriculture Noe Megrelishvili and the representative of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) met the students, congratulated them on the new school year and spoke to them about the importance and history of the International Day for the Preservation of the Ozone Layer. The students also heard a presentation concerning the ozone layer, the current situation and achieved results of Georgia in this direction.

Roman Strasser's visit to the European School

On September 11, Head of the European Parliament's Department for Intercultural Relations, Roman Strasser, visited the European School. Mr. Strasser, along with European School students and Young Diplomats of Georgia, discussed the goals and future plans of his visit in Georgia. The Secretary General of the EU-Georgia Friendship Group has announced new international programs to be held in Brussels for young diplomats under the auspices of the European Parliament. At the end of the meeting, the students of the "European School" conducted a tour of the building for Roman Strasser and explained their teaching methods in detail. Roman Strasser's visit to the European School was planned in the frames of four-party Memorandum of Understanding signed in the European Parliament on April 2019.

Fun Activities for Students

Academy of Physical Education “1-2-3” congratulated the European School students on the beginning of the new academic year. Coaches and physical therapists conducted fun activities for kids. Georgian Olympic team doctor Zurab Kakhabrishvili also attended the event. He talked to students about the importance of physical activities and healthy eating. Therapists of Olympic team care about the health of “1-2-3“ Academy members and monitor their physical development systematically.

Electronic Diary Training Session

Teachers at the European School publish students’ grades in the electronic diary which is easily accessible for parents. For elementary level teachers from Georgian Program, a training session was conducted on updated tools and applications of the electronic diary. Teachers learned specifics of the new diary and improved technology skills necessary for their professional daily lives.

First Day at the European School

On September 9, the European School greeted the students, the teachers, and the parents and welcomed all of them to the beginning of a new academic year. We are proud to announce, that the school gained an additional international recognition and started the new academic year with an important achievement-it became the first CIS accredited school in Georgia.
