Big Success of the ES Robotics Club in the US

The ES students from Robotics Club , accompanied by their supervisors Davit Nozadze and Irina Kochlamazishvili, travelled to the US and took part in Genius Olympiad hosted by the State University of New York at Oswego. Among the teams from 75 countries and 35 states three teams from the European School were competing. Genius Olympiad promotes natural sciences and provides understanding and solutions to environmental problems. Our students presented a firefighting robot which had a goal to extinguish fire and save lives in a limited period of time. They achieved success and took the fourth place among the best ten teams. In the end, the ES students: Luka Jenevis, Giorgi Dighmelashvili , Levan Kotishadze,Vakhtang Lemonjava and Nikoloz Kobeshavidze visited different sightseeing and got impressed, especially after the tour to Niagara Falls.

CLASS OF 2019 GRANTED UNPRECEDENTED AMOUNT OF FUNDING

Our seniors have just graduated and are about to pursue their degrees at leading universities around the world. Not only did they secure admissions, but they also received an unprecedented amount of funding. Overall, the class of 2019 scored $1,420,605 USD in scholarships and financial aid for the first year of their degree courses (which translates to 5,682,420 for the duration of their studies).

STEM Fest 2019

On June 9, IYIPO organized an innovative festival STEM Fest 2019 at the shopping and entertainment city-East Point. Talented students from private and state schools presented various activities and scientific projects. The visitors had an opportunity to view thematic stands and take part in innovative experiments. The ES students from Robotics Club alongside with 50 interesting projects of the festival presented 3 different projects developed at the club. The goal of the festival is to promote natural sciences and their role in education.

My Place In Space

On June 10th in European Kindergarten was organized an exhibition-presentation on the topic "My Place In Space". Our children happily presented their work to the parents and told them how grate it was to travel all around the world.

Startup Demo Day

On June 12, Presentation of the 10th grader’s startup ideas was held at European School, which has been evaluated by the competent jury in accordance with preliminarily defined criteria. The winner became a team composed of students from Georgian sector – FANDBOX. The winner was awarded the title of the Startup of the Year. The Georgian Sector and MYP 10th graders during the academic year 2018-2019, had the course – Startups and Entrepreneurship. This event was the final project presentation for them.

Literary Journeys

On June 10, MYP students from grade 8 held a final presentation in Georgian language and literature. They summarized the unit- Literary Journeys and presented animated presentations. Parents who attended the event expressed their opinions about the presentations in the end.

How to Become a Successful Entrepreneur

On June 3, the MYP students from grades 8-10 hosted the Canadian TEDx team member at the school library. The topic of the event was- How to Become a Successful Entrepreneur. The guest talked about entrepreneurship and answered students' questions. The meeting was impressive and exciting for the students.

Primary School Graduation

On May 7, Georgian Program held a graduation ceremony of grade 4 students. The students danced, presented musical and drama performances in the Main Hall where parents and other family members came to share the joy of their children. The students had a chance to bid a farewell to their first teachers and express their appreciation in warm words.

Startup Camp Youth Tbilisi 2019

On the June 9, 2019 “European School” and “Georgia’s Youth Entrepreneurs” organized Startup Camp Youth Tbilisi 2019 awards ceremony. The 1st place winning team was “RoboKit,” an innovative startup idea created by students from “G.Zaldastanishvili American Academy Tbilisi”:Shalva Begiashvili, Sophio Chikhladze, and Tekle Khmidiashvili. The 2nd place winning team was “AutoTech,” created by the students from “American International high school-college Progress”: Afahg Mirvakili, Asma Kafashian, Aryan Zounghi, Ali Paziraei, and Zeynep Gulpinar. The 3rd place winning team was “HTS: Help To See” created by students from “School XXI Century”: Levan Gvineria, Luka Todua, Nikoloz Tuskia, Alexandra Lominadze, Liza Chantladze, Ketevan Janiashvili, and Keso Tsitskishvili.The leadership award was granted to three group leaders: Niyousha Biglar, Levan Gogritchiani, and Elvina Mamedova. Startup Camp Youth Tbilisi was conducted at “European School” where students from various schools participated, developed their startup ideas, worked collaboratively with their team members, gained experience and worked with professional mentors in technological as well as the business area of fields, and pitched their final products to the judges of the event. Many big companies such as: “WOLT,” “Iberia Business Group,” “EcoBina,” “Future Laboratory,” “Fab-Lab,” “European School,” “English Book Georgia” and “British Council Georgia” participated.
