UNESCO PHISOPOHY DAY
On November 20, Grade 4 and 5 students proudly celebrated UNESCO Philosophy Day with a special event, PYPTalks, in the main hall, where selected students presented thoughtful, creative speeches to the school community. Over the past weeks, these young learners explored meaningful questions and big ideas, demonstrating impressive curiosity and open-mindedness as they prepared their presentations. Many important IB Learner Profile attributes were on display—students showed they were thinkers as they developed their arguments, communicators as they delivered speeches with clarity and confidence, and caring individuals as they reflected on topics related to empathy, happiness, and personal well-being. With topics such as “Why Is a Little Mess Okay?”, “Why Considering Each Other’s Feelings Is Important,” and “Can Money Buy Happiness?”, the event sparked meaningful discussions and encouraged students and audience members alike to reflect on what truly matters. The celebration became a wonderful showcase of student voice, critical thinking, and the collaborative spirit of our PYP community.
