Professor Ekaterina Kobakhidze Represents European School in Erasmus+ Faculty Exchange at the University of Bologna

From March 3 to 8, Ekaterina Kobakhidze, Classical Civilizations teacher at the American School of Advanced Studies and Associate Professor at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, participated in the Erasmus+ faculty exchange program at the University of Bologna (Alma Mater Studiorum – Università di Bologna), Italy.

As a visiting professor at the Faculty of History, Civilizations, and Cultures, Professor Kobakhidze delivered a series of four lectures (eight hours in total) on “Greek and Latin Inscriptions of Antiquity for the History of Georgia” to master’s and doctoral students. Her course provided valuable insights into the intersection of ancient epigraphy and Georgian history.

Beyond academic collaboration, Professor Kobakhidze engaged in meaningful discussions with Professor Renzo Tosi, President of the Italian National Association of Classical Culture (AICC). Their meeting explored potential cultural exchange opportunities for students at the European School, further strengthening international ties in the field of Classical Studies.

We are proud of Professor Kobakhidze’s achievements and her dedication to advancing academic research and global collaboration.
