Welcome from the Principal of American School of Advanced Studies

The European School’s American School of Advanced Studies (ASAS) is now in its 13th year of operation.

ASAS was recently re-accredited by the US-based North Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement (NCA CASI), Northwest Accreditation Commission (NWAC), and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Council on Accreditation and School Improvement (SACS CASI), accreditation divisions of Cognia (AdvancEd).

These organizations recognize our steadfast commitment to providing a high-quality education for every one of our students and our promise to continue improving for them.

We welcome students from Grade 6 to Grade 12 and provide an exceptional education in a nurturing and academically challenging environment, inspiring each student to achieve their personal best and become an influential and socially responsible global citizen.

Our class sizes are small and we believe that all our students have the right to a safe and supportive learning environment. To foster and develop a shared school culture, the school promotes principles of mutual respect, equality, tolerance, and partnership.

Our curriculum is based on both national educational values and the standards of the American education system, including the Common Core and Next Generation standards. Students in Grades 10 to 12 have access to a wide range of Advanced Placement (AP) courses.

Besides the high school diploma, eligible students can also be awarded the AP Capstone Diploma by the College Board.

Every year, an increasing number of our students receive the United States President’s Award for Educational Progress and the Award for Academic Excellence.

In June 2025, we celebrated the 4th cohort of graduates who attended European School from Kindergarten to Grade 12. Our graduates are offered places and scholarships by universities of their choice in various parts of the world thanks to the custom-made support provided by our University & Career Counselling Office. Looking at the landscape of private schools in Georgia, it is worth mentioning that for the last 4 years, European School students have consistently received the largest number of offers from Ivy League universities in the country.

One of the key ingredients of our success is our team of talented, caring, and dedicated educators with fantastic lifelong learning skills. As a school committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion, we are very proud of our student support system that enables us to cater to our students’ needs, in collaboration with parents/guardians.

As a provider of all-rounded education, we continue to widen the range of co-curricular opportunities offered to our students, from study trips, international competitions, community service, to the interaction with guest speakers, and the access to the Sabado Leadership Academy, to list a few.

These activities involve students from various classes, teachers, and even parents, encouraging a sense of community and engagement among all stakeholders.

In June 2025, European School as a whole completed its re-accreditation by the Council of International Schools (CIS) with flying colours. This is yet another recognition by international peers of our commitment to continuous improvement.

Words and a website alone don’t do justice to how awesome we are in real life.

We are looking forward to welcoming you to our campus. You will discover that our reputation as one of the region’s top international schools is well deserved.
