A New Chapter of Collaboration: European School (ASAS) Partners with Tirdznisi Public School
We are delighted to announce the signing of a Collaboration Memorandum between LEPL Public School of Tirdznisi, Gori Municipality, and the European School (American School of Advanced Studies – ASAS). This partnership marks the beginning of a supportive, inclusive, and productive exchange that fosters educational growth and opportunity.
As a visionary institution, ASAS took the initiative to host 17 students and 10 teachers from Tirdznisi Public School for a week-long program (February 21–28, 2025), dedicated to enhancing their learning experience and expanding their academic opportunities. The visit was more than just an exchange—it was a chance to build bridges, share resources, and create meaningful connections.
A Week of Learning, Sharing, and Growth
Tirdznisi Public School welcomed us with open arms, demonstrating the brilliance of their students and the dedication of their staff. During our visit, they shared their needs and aspirations for school improvement. In response, ASAS students organized a fundraising initiative to support their peers by providing essential resources, including a printer, covering transportation costs, and arranging a cultural excursion in Tbilisi—an opportunity for Tirdznisi students to explore Georgia’s rich heritage and national identity.
This initiative was made possible by the passionate leadership of students from mixed classes (7-12), including Ana Davitashvili, Rati Lomidze, Tsisi Kurshitashvili, Ana Molodini, Tsvetan Dudolenski, Nia Bitsadze, Luka Kikvadze. The list of students involved has grown significantly as the project expanded school-wide. A special thanks goes to Iakob Kemertelidze, Duchi Tetradze, Irakli Liluashvili, Mariam Khurodze, Elisabed Arveladze, Giorgi Nikolaishvili, and many more—the list is endless. The students of ASAS gave their best to make these days as memorable as possible for their peers from Tirdznisi. Their dedication ensured visitors had an unforgettable experience, culminating in heartfelt farewell gifts.
A Meaningful Educational Exchange
The collaboration aimed to exchange teaching methodologies, share digital and library resources, and introduce students to modern educational advancements in STEAM and Fab Lab development. Throughout the week, Tirdznisi students attended diverse classes, including world literature, classical studies, Latin, and AP subjects, gaining exposure to new disciplines beyond their standard curriculum. Students also shared their interest in different sports, playing basketball and football together. They are now planning friendly matches in the future.
Meanwhile, the teachers of Tirdznisi Public School had the chance to observe innovative teaching strategies and lesson dynamics, enriching their own classroom approaches. For ASAS students, this experience was equally transformative—they led service-action initiatives, mentored their peers, and took on leadership roles, strengthening their sense of social responsibility and community engagement.
Lasting Impact and Future Plans
What made this collaboration truly special was the genuine friendships and new ideas for future partnerships that emerged from it. The students of ASAS, demonstrating the qualities of true leaders, are already brainstorming further initiatives to deepen the collaboration and create sustainable educational support programs.
A special thanks goes to Natia Tevzadze, Academic Dean of ASAS, whose vision and dedication made this initiative a reality.
