Global Citizenship Assembly
Our school hosted the One World, Many Voices: Global Citizenship Assembly, led by the newest members of our Grade 8 and 9 community. Guided by hosts Elizabeth Schenkel and Shelby Lester, the event celebrated unity, understanding, and the shared responsibility we all have toward shaping a better world.
Through discussions and creative presentations, students explored what it truly means to be a global citizen, someone who listens, learns, and leads with empathy. Highlights included “Youth Voices in Global Change: Movements Where Teenagers Shaped History” and “How Artificial Intelligence Affects Us and the World.” These sessions reminded everyone that innovation and compassion can work hand in hand, helping us become more tolerant, thoughtful, and engaged members of our global community.
In a moving moment of compassion and leadership, the students also introduced a charity initiative to support a woman in our community battling cancer. This heartfelt effort not only raised awareness but also transformed understanding into meaningful action, showing that caring for one person can spark hope for many.
