️We are proud to announce the opening of innovative Digital Fabrication Laboratory at the European School. FABLAB promises unprecedented educational opportunities in the Georgian education system - students will have access to the most advanced technologies and acquire knowledge to kickstart international innovative projects in Georgia. Implementing new education methods along with an innovative infrastructure will strengthen 21st-century skills among our students.

On November 6, our Georgian Program pupils from the grade 4B paid a visit to Georgian National Center of Manuscripts. Students saw a collection of unique manuscripts. They acquired knowledge of a book writing process and were familiarized with the main stages of the development of the Georgian alphabet.

9th and 8th class students of American high School visited the site of the former Dzalisa city, Tsilkani Saint Mary Church, Svetitskhoveli Cathedral and Mtskheta Theatron. In Dzalisa, students had an Outdoor class in Classic civilization. They saw ruins of the former city site: a public pool, Roman-style villa, sewage system and mosaic Triclinium. Students answered questions about the Georgian and Roman relations, innovations of Roman architecture and mythological theme expressed on the mosaics. In addition, they discussed the main principles of the Roman thermal bath construction process.

Students of the American High School visited Simon Janashia Museum of Georgia and the National Gallery. At Georgian museum, they saw a photo exhibition depicting the personal lives of Diego Rivera and Frida Kahlo. The exhibition "Diego and Frida. A Smile in the middle of the way" has been traveling to different countries since 2002. Students also visited Soviet Occupation Exhibition Hall and Georgian Costume and Weaponry exhibition. Afterward, they saw the Permanent Exhibition at the National Gallery, which showcases works by distinguished Georgian artists of the 20th century - Niko Pirosmanashvili, David Kakabadze, Lado Gudiashvili and Iakob Nikoladze.

We were honored to host representatives of Dasaran, internationally award-winning Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) organization based in Armenia, which builds technology designed to help countries around the world to meet their educational and technological development goals. Guests were familiarized with the e-platforms currently in use at the European School and their functionalities. The Dasaran team presented features and possibilities of their software and we got to know a broad range of benefits that come with their service. Afterward, European School students gave our guests a school tour and showed them around the newly opened FabLab, an innovative laboratory which aims to provide hands-on STEM education even in the early school years.

On Friday, November 2, pupils of our Kindergarten exhibited their artworks and showcased the skills acquired during this school year. Mummies and daddies got the chance to try delicious cookies, churchkhelas (candle-shaped walnut candies) and apple jam, handmade by their children.

On October 31, fun sports games were held involving our 4th graders. Participants showed their athletic abilities and achievement motivation. Children did their best and demonstrated an adequate level of physical readiness.

An intellectual game “Brains Battle” was held at the European School. At the intraschool competition, students were divided into groups of 5 and each of them answered 15 questions. The championship was held in 3 age categories - from third to fifth grade, from sixth to eighth grade and from ninth to twelveth grade. In the first age category winners became “Combatting Brains” (Georgian Sector, 6th B class) and “Brainiacs” (PYP, 4th/5th classes), in the second category winner was “Tesla” (MYP 8thA class) and in the third category won a group named “American’s Group” (AHS 10th class). At the next level, the best 50% of the European School groups will compete with groups from other schools.

Our first graders took part in a team competition - Robot Race. They programmed path for the robots and attempted to help it successfully reach the final point. Cheered on by their parents and family members, children were very competitive and showed a great team spirit. The winners were awarded certificates and delicious chocolate gold medals.
