The European School is a Winner of Millennium Innovation Competition

On March 28, the finals of the Millennium Innovations Competition took place. The competition encourages innovative ideas and project implementation in STEM fields and technologies among youth. The ES team became one of the finalist teams and won Tegeta Motors’s prize -5000 GEL. The project of Georgian Program students from 9-10 grade was about generating electric power in an eco-friendly way. The students created an innovative propeller able to catch wind everywhere. The team was mentored by FabLab teacher Guranda Gogaladze. The ES team consisted of following students: Nugo Shoshiashvili, Omar Shekiladze, Sandro Tvaliashvili, Dimitri Gozalishvili and Giorgi Geladze. The main goal of the Millennium Innovation Competition is to connect winner students to the private companies and support their future collaboration.

Open Lessons

PYP Program held open lessons for parents. Parents were offered this opportunity to observe live lessons and receive information about innovative teaching methods and the quality of education of their kids.

Museum of Entertaining Science

The ES students continue visiting Experimentorium- Museum of Entertaining Science. Georgian Program students from 9a had a trip to the museum a few days ago. They observed physical and chemical processes there, used different equipment, listened to a science presentation, formulated hypotheses and analyzed results. Knowledge acquired during lessons was successfully applied during the experiments.

Advertising and Promotion

PYP students have been working on a project about advertising for three days. They learned how should advertisement affect the behavior of clients and used an apple company for testing. The students created effective posters, videos and introduced the company product to the 5th graders. The winner team received special prizes from the school.

Book Week

The European School holds Book Week- a week-long celebration of reading, from April 1st to April 5th. Several activities are planned within this week. A variety of Books from different publishers and bookstores will be sold at the European school hallways during the whole week.

Open Door Day

On March 29, an Open Doors Day was held at the European School. Meeting with parents took place in the Main Conference Hall and was chaired by the Academic Director Sophia Bazadze. The British Council Teaching Centre Manager Steven Shelli and the General Director of the Future Laboratory Giorgi Kashibadze also welcomed parents. Later, parents had a school tour and meetings with program coordinators. The European School is grateful to each parent who made a choice and decided to enroll kids in our school.

Theatre and School

On World Theatre Day Georgian Program students attended a theatre performance for children. ,,Muza” artists staged an amusing performance for kids and made them love theatre more.

Village Builders

PYP students from grade 2 staged a performance according to Sulkhan Saba Orbeliani’s fable “Village Builders”. Different nationality students learned Georgian alphabet, reading, writing, simple phrases, poems, songs and surprised their parents.

Art of Advertising

Advertising company AdVan made a presentation for PYP students. The presenters showed several advertisements to students and gave tips for effective advertising.
