Give a Book
28 Apr 2021Giving books is a popular tradition worldwide. People give books as gifts on World Book and Copyright Day. This year, the campaign #GiveaBook is held for the third time in Georgia. The ES students exchange books- the gift of reading, literacy, and education. On April 23rd, UNESCO named Tbilisi World Book Capital for the year 2021. The city is going to host many interesting book-promoting events where our students will be participating actively. Booklover students came to the school on Book Day dressed in famous characters’ costumes, gave books to friends, attended Giorgi Kekelidze’s Literacy lessons, learned a lot about children’s books, and watched movies in the library.

Visit of the Cultural Attache of the US embassy
19 Apr 2021On April 19th, Christopher Anderson, the Cultural Attache of the US embassy in Georgia visited the European School. An honored guest became acquainted with the ES academic programs, innovative approaches implemented at the school, he had a tour of the European School's state-of-the-art infrastructure that fosters academic excellence. Christopher J. Anderson evaluated the role of the American High School which provides Georgian and international students with a pathway to American higher education. He received information about the impressive results and achievements of the AHS students who were awarded the USA Presidential Award for Educational Excellence. We hope, this visit will increase the role of American education at the European School and lead our students to greater success.

Digital Technology Week
19 Feb 2021Digital Technology Week was held in the Mathematics Department and the Department of Languages and Literature of the European School. It aimed to observe how digital technologies have been integrated into teaching and share effective teaching practices among colleagues.

European School Signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Vakhtang Bochorishvili Clinic
06 Nov 2020A Memorandum of Understanding was signed by the European School Director Sophio Bazadze and the Head of Vakhtang Bochorishvili Clinic David Gadelia. This document implies close cooperation between the school and the clinic during pandemics. On the way to combat the novel coronavirus COVID-19, the European School continues to support the health of students, teachers, and staff. The clinic will provide the school community with a special offer on health care services if needed. Vakhtang Bochorishvili Clinic will offer the European School community emergency medical assistance and patronage throughout curing the disease and testing to detect the virus. Additionally, special offers will be provided on diagnostic services.

Equilibrium
02 Nov 2020The European School supports knowledge, education, and development and participates in various literacy projects. Within the Equilibrium project of the National Parliamentary Library of Georgia, the ES students collected children’s books and delivered to the writer Giorgi Kekelidze who plans to create a personal library for Tika Tedoradze who tragically lost her family members during the natural disaster happened in Khelvachauri. We received children’s books from Bakur Sulakauri Publishing House as well. Charity united us all: the school, the library, and the publishers.

Children Support Peers
21 Oct 2020As you know, the boarding school of Shatili burned down last year. On the same day when this happened, the European School students started a campaign #youjoinustoo. Students united to support their peers and began to collect school supplies. Books, textbooks, photo camera, balls, stationery items, computer accessories, and learning resources – these are only a few objects from the list of gifts delivered to Shatili. Georgian National University SEU joined our initiative and sent 8 computers to Shatili School.
