Robotics Competition at the FabLab
19 Dec 2019On December 16, the Second Sumo Robot Competition –Sumo Bot Challenge was held at the ES FabLab. Students from 6th grade competed in several rounds. After a tense struggle, the best-programmed robot won the competition and was awarded the title SomoBot of the Year. The most beautiful, fastest and most original robots were also awarded. Students received certificates. The winner students will participate in the 14th International Competition on April 8-10 in Turkey, Sanliurfa. Similar robotics competitions will be held annually at the ES where together with our students, 6th graders from other schools will be given the opportunity to participate.

Drama Performance “Pinocchio" at the ES Stage
19 Dec 2019A play based on the Adventures of Pinocchio-the famous novel written by Carlo Collodi was directed and staged by Davit Nadirashvili and Beqa Kurashvili at the ES with the initiative of the Arts Department. Gepetto carved a boy out of wood and named Pinocchio. The wooden puppet was brought to life by a blue fairy, who informed him that he could become a real boy if he would prove himself to be brave and truthful. After this scene, Pinoccio’s interesting, difficult and fun journey started. The audience enjoyed the play performed by the ES students.

A Journey Through Ancient Civilizations
18 Dec 2019PYP summative project:Grade three finalized working on their second unit of inquiry “where we are in place and time” by hosting an Ancient Civilization Fair. The unit was a collaborative study that built respect for the past, and knowledge about the contributions of different cultures. Students worked very hard; they gathered facts through research, prepared posters and created 3D models representing the architecture of different ancient civilizations. They collected different artifacts appropriate to their civilizations to share and gave all attendees an educational Journey through Ancient Civilizations.

Aideathon Exhibition
18 Dec 2019On December 13, the event was held at the Aideathon Exhibition. Within the framework of this event, the teachers together with their students created simple prototypes that would simplify and develop the learning process. Then they worked with Fablab's installations, creating solid devices to improve the learning process. They shared Fablab's capabilities with their work.

“A message to the older generation”
18 Dec 2019On December 16th, MYP 9th grade decided to make a presentation on the learned unit “' Fathers and Sons' - Generational Relations. They have made a video “A message to the older generation” and invited the parents for the discussion. During the discussion they touched each statement, discussed the communication problems and necessity of the dialogue. That was expressed by communication – the representatives of both generations were involved in it. The discussion was free and at times emotional.

MYP assembly
11 Dec 2019On 10 th of December, MYP assembly was held. Head of IB programmes made presentation about the issues related to identity, assembly was also visited by English Book representatives who informed students about their future studying perspectives. Moreover, SA coordinator talked about the coming events and planned activities. MYP trophy was given to two six grader students who initiated the battery recycling project at our school.

MUN International Conference
10 Dec 2019Kant’s Academy organized the third Georgian International Model United Nations Conference - GIMUN in Tbilisi. The Head of IB programs Mr. Brice Bomo – the special guest of the event, attended the opening ceremony, addressed delegates and wished them successful participation in committee works. One of the biggest MUN conferences in Eastern Europe was held at Biltmore hotel. For three days, the delegates worked on issues like: preventing crime; fighting against racism, xenophobia and religious intolerance; international security; women’s occupational segregation and etc. Diplomats from different embassies and government officials were involved in the event.

European School at National Tourism Awards - Welcome to Georgia!
09 Dec 2019On December 6, the 5th Anniversary Gala Ceremony of the National Tourism Awards –Welcome to Georgia was held in Sheraton Grand Tbilisi Metekhi Palace. The European School representatives attended the event. The schools had a special exhibition stand to present academic programs and promotional material to up to 800 visitors and share the ES achievements with them.

09 Dec 2019The exhibition, the Second of its kind in Georgia, was designed to provide a single platform medium for the education sector in one dedicated space and create a venue where all participants in the industry could come together. The aim was to focus on potential customers and visitors who had the opportunity to participate and make an assessment of the presented educational institutions and their advantages, their programs, teaching methods, infrastructure, curriculum and technical support they provide.
