Personal Exhibition

At the London Avenue of the ES paintings of the Georgian Program student from grade 4b, Masho Butskhrikidze were exhibited alongside with the artworks of her brother Tornike Butskhikidze. The young artist received a lot of compliments from the visitors for the paintings created during the last two years.

PYP Exhibition

20 May 2019

On May 17, the PYP Exhibition was held in the Main Hall. This year, as a culmination of the IB Primary Years Programme, grade 5 students dived into their project-based work to cover the unit “Sharing the Planet”. At the most important academic event of the PYP, the students showcased spectacular presentations of 8 weeks’ projects based on a particular issue of their choosing and interest: recycling, types of pollution, homeless people, animal rights and advanced technologies as tools for improving communication. The Exhibition was also the perfect way to visualize their research, action and the whole process through their performance, shadow play on environmental threats, printed brochures, video games and the final musical performance which perfectly matched the concept of the event. The PYP students showed their great interest towards the environment, the students also showed that they became inspired to take action and act responsibly as global citizens.

Guests from Estonia

On May 17, Mart Laidmets-Secretary General at Ministry of Education and Research of Estonia and Margus Gering-Deputy Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Estonia to Georgia together with the Estonian delegation visited the European School. The guests had a school tour, they visited the European Kindergarten as well, met the Academic Director of the ES and held an interesting conversation about school education and teaching methods.

Lecture on the Importance of Sleep

On May 16, Butsiko Chkhartishvili held a lecture on the Importance of Sleep for the Georgian Program students from grades 8-9. The students received information about sleep disorders, sleep cycle, and all the sleep-related topics. This interactive lecture was very informative for the students.

Winners of Visual Arts Competition

16 May 2019

On May 11, the exhibition of the ES students paintings and awarding ceremony was held in the Museum of Fine Arts. 21 students from the ES, together with 680 participants from all regions of Georgia competed in the visual arts competition organized by RIAF – Georgia World Youth Art Summit. 5 students from our school became winners in different age categories. Grandprix was awarded to Michael Jonas Overly, Golden Prize - Elene Kurdiani and Alina Spanova, Silver Prize-Danil Evstfiev, Bronze Prize-Iagmur Kurt. In the future, paintings of winner students will be exhibited in South Korea and will be published in the calendar 2020.

Lesson in Babale

On May 15, Georgian Program students from grade 3a visited the social enterprise Babale, where they painted handmade pencil cases. The students created some preliminary sketches first and later,  produced colorful paintings. The joyful learning environment and activities made kids happy. 

Meeting with Drug Addiction Therapist

15 May 2019

On May 14, the ES hosted Tamar Sirbiladze-Drug Addiction Therapist and representative of NGO BEMON. BEMON has 20 years of experience in drug use prevention among youth. The doctor talked to students about drugs, different psychotropic substances, drug addiction, its consequences, and behavioral disorders. Discussing this problematic issue with the doctor was very interesting for students.

Classical Music Festival

15 May 2019

On May, 14 the Classical Music Festival was held at the Main Hall. Participants competed in piano, violin and voice categories. Special certificates were awarded to the winners of different nominations. The best performers were announced by juries: composer Rusudan Sebiskveradze, music teacher Guliko Jomardidze, music teacher Nino Chalisuri and the Program coordinator Kato Bakradze. The audience reacted positively and rewarded all performers with applause.
