Assembly on Digital Citizenship & Modern Challenges

On February 18, the Main Hall buzzed with energy as students, teachers, and esteemed guests gathered for a thought-provoking assembly on Digital Citizenship & Challenges of the Modern Era. The event was organized by the Student Leadership and Engagement Coordinator, Nana Mukeria, in collaboration with English Language Arts teacher Ana Bochorishvili, who supervised the students’ projects. The assembly was attended by international partners and education quality representatives from Cognia.

A Celebration of Identity & Awareness

The event opened with a captivating performance of Georgian folk dance, We Value Our Identity, by Masho Khurodze, Kato Mamukashvili, Barbare Iashvili, and Ana Molodini (Grades  9 and 11), followed by a heartfelt rendition of Tbiliso by Mariam Filiz Basaran.

Insightful Workshops & Presentations

A series of student-led presentations and discussions addressed key issues of digital literacy and modern challenges:

  • Digital Rights and Responsibilities – Tsisia Kurshitashvili (Grade 9a)

  • Media Balance and Digital Wellness – Anna Kuzmidi (Grade 9a), featuring the video “Screen Time: Finding the Balance” presented by Natalie Koiava (Grade 12)

  • Online Safety – Ketevan Darchiashvili (Grade 9a)

  • Vaping and Teen Health – A Growing Crisis – Speech by Kato Mamukashvili (Grade 10)

  • Book Presentation: A Comprehensive Guide to AP Micro and Macroeconomics – Mariam Khurodze (Grade 11)

  • Digital Footprints – Ana Molodini (Grade 9a)

Each session encouraged critical thinking about the impact of technology on students’ lives, equipping them with tools to navigate the digital world responsibly.

A Memorable Conclusion

The assembly ended on a high note with two stunning performances:

  • Bach Prelude – Piano performance by Tornike Butskhrikidze

  • “You Know I’m No Good” by Amy Winehouse – Sung by Sofia Bedukadze

This event underscored the importance of digital awareness and responsible online behavior while celebrating student talent and intellectual engagement.
