Irma Barbakadze at College Board Forum
Dr. Irma Barbakadze, Head of the American Education Department – European School is currently on a one-year visit to the United States after which she will be awarded an additional degree of secondary and higher education expert.
During her visit Dr. Irma Barbakadze attended the annual College Board Forum 2017 on October 25-27, 2017 in New York. College Board executives attended the meeting as well as the representatives of member schools and universities.
Dr. Barbakadze also met with Mr. Clay Hensley, Sr. Director of Higher Education, and Mr. Russel Dover, Director of Higher Education Outreach. They discussed the American High School and the results of the students. They also talked about recent challenges including the recognition of the American High School diploma in Georgia. Another topic was the recognition of AP Exam results in Georgia and granting credit for them by Georgian universities.
The directors of College Board showed interest to contact the Minister of Education of Georgia regarding AP exam recognition initiative. They also expressed idea to have the SAT recognized as an equivalent for Georgian National Exam of Skills as it covers all the pertinent components.
