The European School annually hosts the debates before the Student Parliament Chairman Elections. Election Debates 2023, held on October 25th, allowed candidates to represent themselves and address their campaign platform to the student body. Student leaders running for the Chairman position answered questions from other candidates and the audience.

IB PYP joined the ES Green Year campaign. During their first transdisciplinary theme, Who We Are, grade 3 students inquired into the healthy lifestyle. They learned the importance of a balanced diet, sleep, hygiene, and being active. Thus, at the end of the unit, the students decided to put their knowledge into action and organize a marathon on Turtle Lake. Together with the Georgian teacher Ms. Lika, the students prepared fliers that they distributed on the lake to promote healthy living and spread awareness. The students ran two laps around the lake and exercised using the sports equipment available at the lake. The students had a great time and were able to see that exercising can be fun and engaging.

The European School  Primary Years Programme’s (PYP) counselors recently organized a heartwarming Wellbeing Assembly for students in grades 1 through 5. The theme of the assembly was "Choose Kindness," and it aimed to instill in our young learners the values of empathy, compassion, and the significance of simple acts of kindness.

We are delighted to share the exciting news that the chess teacher of the American School of Advanced Studies, Ilia Tsetskhladze, has been sponsored from the prestigious Shota Rustaveli National Foundation after emerging victorious in a highly competitive grant competition for a doctoral educational program. Notably, Ilia is a distinguished contemporary scholar in the field of Byzantine studies and an expert in codicology, making this achievement even more remarkable.

On October 4, our school had the privilege of hosting three remarkable alumni: Ana Tavberidze, Ana Nakaidze, and Nanuka Kvernadze. These accomplished graduates generously shared their insights and experiences with current students, shedding light on their individual journeys, campus life, and essential tips to thrive during their time at school.

The anticipation of embarking on a new educational journey is an exhilarating experience, particularly for incoming students. At an American School of Advanced Study , a vibrant "Welcome Back To School" event was organized to warmly embrace the newcomers. During this event, students took the stage to deliver captivating presentations that offered a unique and personal insight into their school experience.

Providing hygiene education to our students is essential for the European School. Global Handwashing Day is the perfect opportunity for us to celebrate the importance of handwashing and to spread awareness. This year, American Hospital Tbilisi visited our school and, in a creative and fun way, encouraged children to wash their hands with soap.  

University and Career Counseling office at European School had the distinct privilege of hosting a visit from one of the world's most prestigious institutions, The University of Chicago, currently ranked 12th in the US News & World Report's Best College ranking.

The first parent-teacher association (PTA) meeting of the year took place last week in the ES conference hall. Attending PTA meetings is a great way to get involved in a child’s school life, connect with fellow parents and school administrators, and share ideas. During the meeting, parents heard the latest school updates from the Director and the PTA Coordinator, got acquainted with ongoing projects and plans of collaboration with parents, attended the ceremony of signing a memorandum with the Association of Educational Psychologists, received recommendations about healthy eating from the wellness expert Mikhail Kochiashvili and tasted the healthy food served in the school cafeteria.
