Meeting about Rotary Club

On October 11, 2022, Pavle Tvaliashvili, Past President, Past Assistant Governor, and Deputy District Governor of Rotary district 2452 visited AHS and met with students. Visiting guest discussed the mission of Rotary Club and talked about youth programs, and key aspects of professional and personal development. 

Columbus Day 2022

On October 10, 2022, AHS students organized a Columbus Day activity at school. They 3D printed Columbus statue in the ES FabLab, displayed foods of Columbian Exchange, and organized the journal of Christopher Columbus scavenger hunt and hosted a conference. At the conference, they presented the following topics: “The voyages of Christopher Columbus” (Nikoloz Khaduri, 10A), “The biography of Christopher Columbus” (Ani Shevardnadze, 10A), “The history of Columbus day and why we celebrate it today” (Ana Danelia, 10A), “The Columbian exchange” (Nika Tarielashvili, 10B), “Characteristics that helped Columbus in his journey” (Anna Davitashvili, 10A), “Benefits, drawbacks, and the aftermath of Columbus's voyages” (Andria Laitadze, 10A).

Global Handwashing Day

We celebrated Global Handwashing Day at the European Kindergarten. The teachers talked about the rules of proper hand washing. The kids learned about importance of maintaining hygiene norms for our health.

Clean Hands – Healthy Future

On Global Handwashing Day, the European School students hosted Irma Kenciashvili - Director of the Infection Control and Prevention Department of American Hospital Tbilisi. The guest discussed the role of handwashing as an effective tool to prevent diseases, conducted fun activities, and distributed flyers to enhance students' knowledge about hygiene. The European School doctor held awareness sessions and showed hand hygiene videos to primary program students.

Meeting with the Representative of American University in Bulgaria

On October 7th, the AHS students from grades 10-11 met the representative of the American University in Bulgaria, Aneta Panayotova. The admissions Counselor shared information about academic programs offered at the university and admission procedures. Interested students asked questions, interacted with the guest, and received brochures and flyers from the university counselor Natia Nanava.

Art Education – inter-culturally

Within the project Art Education – inter-culturally, the delegation of art educators from Lucerne and Zurich art colleges and Ilia State University, together with the representatives of the Ministry of Education of Georgia, visited the European School. The project is intended to enrich the experience of future art teachers, advocate art education in schools and deepen cultural exchange between Georgia and Switzerland.  

Story "Doesn't matter big or small"

In PYP programe inquiry into the unit of Relationships between people, the grade 1 students invited the guest speaker,  8 years old Natalie Paniashvili to present her original story "Doesn't matter big or small" which is about to be published in Magic Dragon magazine this fall. The story will help our students go deeper into their inquiry while helping them discover one of the secrets of strong relationships.

Celebrating its 15th anniversary, the European School held a marathon and welcomed both teachers and students at Lisi Lake on Sunday, October 2nd. Marathon Day raised the community spirit of our faculty and students, who demonstrated their love for and commitment to the European School. Participants enjoyed beautiful weather, nice views, and a fun race with its excitement and competition.

Preschool Students Start the New Year in New Building

Yesterday, on September 26th, the European Kindergarten opened the doors of a brand new, innovative building. The joyous celebration of the youngest learners reverberated in every corner. Kids liked the warm welcome and got impressed with the design of the new building. White and beige colors used in the interior, the amount of daylight and amount of windows promote a sense of relaxed vitality that comes only with a strong connection to the outdoors, enhance the feeling of space, and create an environment that supports emotional development of preschool students, encourage their thinking and creativity.
