On April 15, Caroline Halling, a Student Recruitment Officer at ESSEX University, UK presented the University programs to the ES students from grades 11-12 and impressed them with all the information about the benefits of being a student at ESSEX.

Visit to Experimentorium

On April 12th, Grade 5a students visited the Experimentorium - Museum of Entertaining Science. This trip was planned to support the unit -Sharing the Planet, the ending unit followed by the PYP Exhibition. Students dived into the world of science and were able to visualize Physics laws. Students participated in the experiments with Nitrogen. They have tested different exhibits and activities: sitting on the nails and lifting a friend into the air, drawing on the sand, playing instruments in the music room and etc. Ecrin Yagmur: " It was fun, I had a great experience. When I grow up I want to be a scientist!" Meryem Meredova: " It was a very interesting trip. I have learned a lot of new things. It was full of fun activities. I loved observing and testing all the exhibits by myself. The Nitrogen show was great!"

Bristol School

The European School hosted Derek Pickup, Honorary Consul of Georgia for South West England, Chair of the Bristol -Tbilisi Twinning Association and his spouse Mrs.Esther Pickup, representative of one of the greatest schools in Bristol to promote collaboration and partnership between the schools. The main goal of the collaboration of the ES and Bristol School is sharing leadership experience, plan students’ visits and improve school life.

Mother Language Day

On April 15, Georgian Program primary students celebrated Mother Language Day. They exhibited own calligraphies in the hall, wrote different phrases and quotes, praised Georgian alphabet with poetry and promised to preserve our cultural heritage.

Advertising the European School in Vake Park

On April 11, the PYP students from grade 4 held the European School advertising campaign in Vake Park. For two months the students have been learning how to create an advertisement and influence consumer behavior. They filmed a promo video about the school, created posters, flyers and later, presented them to people resting in the park. The students applied theoretical knowledge in practice and gained a huge experience. This project was fun and meaningful at the same time for the kids.

Memorandum of Understanding on Exclusive Cooperation

In Brussels, the Georgia-EU Friendship Group, the European Alliance for Georgia, the European School and NGO Multinational Georgia for Strengthening Democratic Values (MGSDV) signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Exclusive Cooperation. Within the memorandum, the ES students will be given an opportunity to participate in various events of the European Parliament and the Council of Europe, participate in international educational tours and attend short trainings in EU institutions. Plans for future collaboration with leading European educational institutions were developed. The ES will ensure implementation of strategic and educational projects.

Visit to Brussels

On April 5-8, the European School administration and students attended official meetings and seminars in Brussels. Our delegation met Natalie Sabanadze- Ambassador to the Kingdom of Belgium and Grand Duchy of Luxembourg and Head of Georgian Mission to the EU and Mr. Lawrence Meredith - European Commission Director for Eastern Neighborhood. Additionally, meetings were held with officials from the European Council on Foreign Relations: Maria del Carmen and Marcus Ruiz. After discussions, students presented their resolution on environmental Issues in Georgia and the draft resolution on Youth Challenges.

Old Tbilisi

On April 5, within a transdisciplinary theme, Georgian Program students from grade 4 had a tour in Old Tbilisi. The students received information about the foundation of the city and peaceful coexistence of people with different religions and nationalities in old city. Primary students visited famous places and monuments of the old town and learned a lot about its history.

Prevention of Endocrine Disorders

On April 11, with an initiative of the European School doctor, the representative of the Association of Young Doctor-Scientists, endocrinologist Tamar Chaduneli informed students about the modified causes of endocrine disorders and prevention of diseases in the age of puberty. The guest shared with students very useful recommendations and guidelines by Harvard Mayo Nutrition Clinic and answered all their questions.
