Literary Meeting with Giorgi Macharashvili
26 Mar 2018The European School hosted the Literature Day organized by a young writer and critic, Giorgi Macharashvili, Georgian Program grade 12 student. Giorgi delivered a talk about Lost Generation American writers who experienced WWI. Giorgi discussed the novels of Ernest Hemingway, Francis Scott Fitzgerald, etc., which often expressed the futility of time in their writings. The meeting proved to be very interesting, inspiring and informative for students and adults alike.

Down Syndrome Day in Diploma Programme
26 Mar 2018Diploma Programme students joined the celebration of World Down Syndrome Day on March 21, 2018. By making presentations about the syndrome and its causes, telling stories about celebrities with this disease, challenges that parents of kids with Down Syndrom face in their daily lives, Moezzi Mohamadamin, Natia Melkadze, Mia Bajat and Giorgi Zirakadze, dressed in t-shirts with the Down Syndrome logo, raised the awareness about this syndrome in the school community.

Profession of Firefighters
26 Mar 2018PYP Grade 1 covered all the lines of inquiry for the Transportation Unit and summarized it by learning about service vehicles and fire safety: They now know the basic fire safety rules, they have a fire safety plan and know how to stop, drop and roll. Students learned about the crucial and heroic profession of firefighters and were so excited to visit the fire station museum on the 22nd of March, meet real fire fighters and explore the fire truck.

Another Success Story of Robotics Club Students
24 Mar 2018On March 1, 2018, Alexander Kartveli Auditorium Opening Ceremony took place at the National Parliamentary Library of Georgia. The European School Robotics Club students, Zaal Chumburidze and Ksenia Kochuraite joined the event and presented their A-10 Thunderbolt II models at the National Library. The American ambassador, Ian Kelly and Lela Kartvelishvili, the president of the Alexander Kartveli Association, together with the invited guests, welcomed our students’ creations.

The European School Students Visit Marjanishvili Theatre
23 Mar 2018Grade 3-4 students visited the museum of Marjanishvili Theatre on March 21, 2018. They got to see the exhibited works of Petre Otskheli, stage costumes and dressing rooms. Students learned more about performing arts and how various performances are created. In the end, they got a chance to try on stage costumes.

An Innovative Joint Project of the European School and the Future Laboratory
22 Mar 2018The European School, driven by the belief that STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) skills are crucial to innovation and development in our contemporary technological, knowledge-based and competitive global world, has decided to transform the school into the STEM school. On March 21, the European School signed the Memorandum of Understanding with the Future Laboratory company and launched an innovative joint project focused on producing innovations and providing students with capabilities and skills that will ensure their competitiveness in the future. Representatives of the school community attended the signing ceremony, where school’s STEM vision and specific details about future development of the STEM curriculum was shared with the audience.

European School Students at MUN Conferences
22 Mar 2018The European School students attended two MUN conferences recently. The last MUN conference that our students participated in was held at the United Nations Headquarters in New York. Together with delegates from around the world, the European School students engaged in intense discussions about global problems. This experience will help them become more confident, responsible citizens and future leaders.

International Day of Forests
22 Mar 2018On March 21, The European Kindergarten celebrated International Day of Forests. Kids were informed about the importance of all types of woodlands and trees and the ways in which trees protect us. Children from different groups created the crafts and arranged a beautiful exhibition.
